David C. Felix, 74, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on June 22, 2023, after a 19-month battle with metastatic prostate cancer that had spread throughout his body.

David was born on Feb. 11, 1949, to Joe V. and Micaela C. Felix in Miami, Arizona. After David graduated from Miami High School in 1967, he volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam War. He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 with the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red 1).

David was an avid hunter and fisherman when he was younger. As he got older, his world revolved around his grandchildren and all of their different activities. He lived with each of his children over the years as a Grandpa and had a wonderful relationship with his kids and grandkids throughout.

He is preceded in death by his father Joe V. Felix, his mother Micaela C. Felix, his brother Joe R. Felix and his son Sean Michael Felix. 

He is survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Joe (Leslie), Ryan Harrison, Erica, Tristen Harrison, Gabriel Fitts, great-grandchild Reagan Danielle, David Jr. (Debbie), Derek, Jonathan, Micaela, great-grandchild Theodore David, Nathan (Jennifer), Alyssa, Christina, Nathan Jr., Tamara Lopez (Joe), Christopher, Eliana and Kayleigh Jo.  He is also survived by his sisters Susie Avalos (Mike), Bonnie Canchola (Charlie) and Carol Herrera, and his brother Eddie. 

Services will be held Sept. 23, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Globe Elks Lodge, 1910 E. Maple St.
