George Ramos

Posted

George Gonzales Ramos was welcomed home by our Lord on Oct. 16, 2023. George was born to Pilar and Eleanor Ramos on March 2, 1942, in Miami, Arizona, and died at Mercy Gilbert Hospital.

We are grateful for the years God gave to our husband, father, grandfather and brother.  We found great strength in his protection, advice and faith. During his life, he enjoyed his lapidary work, gardening and the establishment of his janitorial business. He also enjoyed many friendships; he was proud of his military service in the army; and his biggest joys came from his love of family and the building of his relationship with God.

He was a model of faith and spiritual strength to us as he faced his health challenges with courage and a deep trust in and obedience to Christ. He believed the words of St. Francis, “Where there is doubt, let me sow faith; where there is despair, hope; and where there is sadness, joy … for it is in giving that we receive … and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” We will forever miss him but trust that we will see him again.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his great-grandson Robert Bejarano and his godson D.J. Lopez. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Linda; two daughters, Lorraine Reves (Ralph) and Noreen Goff; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; his siblings David Ramos (Sylvia), Samuel Ramos (Shirley), Dorothy Lopez (Mike) and Pilar Ramos Jr.; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.  Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami, Arizona, and he was laid to rest at the Globe Cemetery.
