Lorenzo Amezcua

Posted

Lorenzo entered life as a vibrant boy on Nov. 22, 1979, and is survived by his mother Bernice Mata, his wife April Amezcua, daughter Juliet Amezcua, and his brothers Steven Mata, Richard Matthews, Dustin Riggs and Jonah Valencia.

Lorenzo met his wife April Amezcua in 2003. They quickly fell in love and married in 2005, having a beautiful girl, Juliet Amezcua, in 2007.

Lorenzo began his fitness journey in 2006. The journey began as a way to lose weight and be healthier. He quickly learned to love fitness and wanted to share what he learned with others; he became a personal trainer and started racing in triathlons. During his journey, he completed one ironman and two duathlons. He rode his bike from Florence to Scottsdale for fun. During his time as a trainer, he helped hundreds of people lose weight and attain greater health and saved lives as a result. In 2010 he completed his GED and went on to complete EMT school. Not knowing where to go next, Lorenzo decided to sacrifice his fitness journey to make more money working for FedEx.

Lorenzo ended worldly life peacefully on June 17, 2023, surrounded by his family in Scottsdale, Arizona, and joined his father Benjamin Amezcua in Heaven. Lorenzo’s life will continue through all those he has touched, and he will continue to be a hero.

A special thank you to all who called and helped in any way. God bless you all.
