Theron Hatch

Posted

Theron Kent Hatch lived with Alzheimer’s for more than 13 years. Over the last few months he declined quickly until he peacefully left us Aug. 8, 2023. He was born in Snowflake, Arizona, on Oct. 11, 1941, to June (Pearce) and Quill Hatch. He has three living siblings: Rosmarie Jarvis, Lorin Hatch and Doris Lunt, and one deceased: Dale Hatch. He is also survived by his wife, Anna, and five children: Sherlyn (Bill) Willis, Scott Hatch, Lynette (Stuart) Lott, Janet (John) Tubbs and Deanna Hatch. He was preceded in death by our beloved son, Keith Hatch.

Theron was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a Spanish-speaking mission in Texas, and upon returning he went to Arizona State University. In March 1964 he met Anna Johnson when he was invited to dinner at the Johnson family’s close friends’ home. Theron and Anna were married and sealed in the Mesa, Arizona, Temple on July 10, 1964, and they recently celebrated 59 years together.

Theron worked in finance, which brought him to Globe, Arizona. A new job in banking moved him and his family around the state for four years before returning to Globe. He changed careers and began working in real estate before starting Hatch Realty. He really cared about people and tried to help them find what they needed. Theron enjoyed helping his community. He could often be found on the side of the road in the canyon picking up trash. He also enjoyed running to the point of winning a number of races. One of his greatest loves, besides Anna and his family, was his old car collection.

It is always hard to lose someone you love, but we are grateful for the wonderful example he set for us and grateful he could move on to a better place.
