Grow sentenced to life for first degree murder

Globe -- Gila County Attorney Bradley D. Beauchamp has announced that on Thursday, July 17, the Honorable Monica L. Stauffer sentenced 38-year-old Kyron Dale Grow to life imprisonment following his conviction for First Degree Felony Murder.
On June 20, 2014, Grow was found guilty of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and two counts of Child Abuse following a seven-day jury

Accident leaves 1 dead and 2 injured

Miami -- On Saturday, July 19 at approximately 3:55 a.m., the Gila County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call advising that four people were involved in a vehicle rollover accident in the Cherry Flats area. Deputies and medical personnel were dispatched to the area.

Supervisors approve budget

Globe -- At its meeting on July 15, the Gila County Board of Supervisors approved the 2014-15 budget.
The balanced budget is for $94.4 million and represents a 1.2 percent reduction from the 2013-14 budget. Regarding staffing, more than nine Full-Time Equivalents have been eliminated. The largest decrease comes in the General Fund, which loses $1.8 million from last year.

Globe passes 2014-15 budget

Globe -- At its meeting on July 8, the Globe City Council unanimously passed the 2014-15 budget.
The budget stands at $23.7 million, which is a modest decrease from the 2013-14 budget of $24.7 million.

Capstone releases Pinto Valley report

Miami -- Capstone Mining Corporation of Canada, owner of the Pinto Valley Copper Mine west of the town of Miami has released production figures for the second quarter of this year.

County Attorney Beauchamp announces four new convictions

Gila County -- Gila County Attorney Bradley D. Beauchamp announced that on June 6, 2014, Payson resident Brian John Rozboril, plead guilty to one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
