Gaona gets 8.5 years in jail

Globe -- Gila County Attorney Bradley D. Beauchamp announced that on April 6, 2015, 22-year-old Globe resident Morgan Gaona was sentenced by the Honorable Gary V. Scales to 8.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for assaulting a Gila County Sheriff's Detention Officer.

Community supports GHS Robotics

Globe -- Shortly after qualifying for the FRC Nationals, which will be held in St. Louis this week, the Globe High School Robotics team (TigeRobotics) went into fundraising mode.
The trip to St. Louis is going to cost nearly $11,000, and the team needed every last penny it could get. Thankfully, the local community has responded in a big way.

Central Heights -- On Friday at approximately 5:49 pm, the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a stabbing that occurred on Glendale Avenue in Central Heights.

Phoenix -- At the Arizona East Regional Competition at Grand Canyon University, the Globe TigeRobotics Team 5059 was allied with Team Taters 2122 from Idaho and Friarbots Team 3309 from Anaheim, Calif. The alliance swept the finals, winning every match, though some contests were very close.
