Tigers stand united in win over Miami

Globe -- The Globe Tigers delivered on Friday night.
Playing before more than 4,000 people at Harbison Field, Globe dominated arch-rival Miami, using a punishing running game and suffocating pass rush to record a 34-8 victory.
The game was historic on several levels: It was the 100th matchup between Globe and Miami, and it also came during a special weekend

Supervisors approve combined $20K in funding for Bullion Plaza, GAAC

Globe -- At its regular meeting on Sept. 16, the Gila County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve $10,000 payments to Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum and the Globe Active Adult Center's Meals on Wheels Program.
The money will come out of the county's Economic Development Fund.

Fire departments conduct rope rescue

Gila County -- The Globe, Canyon, and Tri-City fire departments rope rescue team responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 70 at mile post 155.

Globe -- Globe Unified School District administrators reported relatively smooth beginnings for the 2014-15 school year.
Attendance is up at all three schools.
