Superior — Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center held an open house to celebrate the opening of its new Superior clinic on Wednesday evening.

The event drew a standing-room only crowd, which enjoyed refreshments, speakers and tours of the new, modern clinic. CVRMC held a groundbreaking event for the clinic back in April 2011, and the clinic officially opened for business on Aug. 27.

CVRMC CEO Neal Jensen told the crowd of about 100 people how the project originally started with a simple handshake between he and R.C. Arnold, who along with wife Kathryn operated Arnold Motors for more than 60 years at the site where the new clinic now sits. Jensen praised the Arnolds for their cooperation and commitment to the project.

R.C. and Kathryn then addressed the crowd.

“I told Neal that I wanted him to get this clinic finished in my lifetime, and he got it done,” Kathryn joked. “We are privileged and blessed to be a part of this project.”
