Globe — The Globe Unified School District Board of Directors gave their stamp of approval to order $174,000 worth of computers. The 135 Dell computers will be used by staff members and the money will come from capital purchase money. Superintendent of Schools Jerry Jennex told the board that the computers are needed. “We want to be tech leaders at least locally,” he said.
Jennex described the computers as “plug and play,” meaning that the staff will have an integrated system with all software necessary for a “functioning work station.”
The board gave its unanimous approval with Cayci Vuksanovich absent.
In other business, Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Kinnard presented the 2012 annual financial report. She pointed out that many of the items had zero expenditures because of state cut-backs.
