House fires in Globe and Miami keep fire departments busy

Holly Sow/ Arizona Silver Belt Globe Fire responded to a house fire on Sunday, Dec. 23 after passersby called about seeing heavy smoke billowing from the windows.

Miami ― Globe, Miami, and Canyon Fire departments responded to a house fire in the 800 block of Merritt Street in Miami on Dec. 21 at 3:30 a.m. The residents, James Swatek and his wife, and their nine-month-old baby were awakened by a family pet and were able to get out of the house without any injuries.
