Miami Unified School District off to good start despite sewer line break

Miami Jr./Sr. High School is currently undergoing construction to install solar panels. Student pickup and drop off has been relocated to the East parking lot. The school has also set up a loading and unloading zone off to the left of the parking barriers. The project is expected to be completed in September.
Miami — Miami schools reported a good start to the new school year at Monday night’s regularly scheduled board meeting. A full board heard enrollment numbers from each of the principals as well as first-week surprises.

Miami Jr./Sr. High School principal, Rob Bueche, reported that despite an accidental break to the sewer line by CORE Energy construction workers (those installing the solar panels in the staff parking lot) that sent students district wide home early on Thursday, and a small issue with the fire suppression system, the first week went smoothly.
