Globe — Though school is out for summer, it isn’t stopping some students from doing their part to better their school for next year. Some hard working and thoughtful students from Globe High School lent their time last week to paint some of the school’s walls, along with long time teacher at Globe Tracey Miller.
Miller, who teaches photography and journalism, is also the sponsor for student council and would like to inform all new students that the student council will be giving guided tours and directions to classes on the first day of school. Miller is looking forward to starting the new year and starting on the many activities sure to come.
Globe would also like to welcome a new football coach, Mr. Al Ocampo, to the school. Ocampo has close to four decades coaching experience and couldn’t be happier to be here in Globe. “Right now our main focus is to get into the swing of things and get acquainted with everyone. Every player I’ve met is an exceptional young man, the quality of their character is amazing,” Mr. Ocampo said. “Before this I was in Santa Cruz. I came here because I know from playing Globe in the past that they have great potential. The foundation is already set for a great team.”
Coach Ocampo would like to remind everyone that practice began Monday, July 30 with a walk through at 11:30 a.m. every day at Harbison Field, Monday through Friday, with a two-hour practice starting at 3:45 p.m. Good luck Tigers and keep up the good work!
