Copper Cities Tournament hosts 14 teams at Globe

Fil Butierez/ Arizona Silver Belt The Lady Braves of San Carlos dominate against Amphi during Saturday's bracket play. The Lady Braves reached the semi-finals before losing to the tournament champion, Morenci.

Globe — This year, 14 teams competed at the 32nd Annual Copper Cities Girls Basketball Invitational hosted each December by Globe.

Overall, Morenci took top honors, defeating San Tan in the championship game. Both Miami and San Carlos also did well. San Carlos lost to Morenci in the semi-finals, after defeating Amphi in the quarterfinals.
