Globe — Live theater! Singing! Dancing! Novel staging, glowing performers, classic story ... all right here in Globe.
Enjoy all of that with performances of “Pied Piper the Musical,” presented by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Services, Inc. The fun begins July 13, 14, 20, and 21 at 7 p.m. and July 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, 101 N. Broad St. in Globe.
Dakota Cline heads the cast as the title character. He is joined by 37 fine young people ranging in age from 8 to 18, including Noah Barnes as the Mayor of Hamelin Town, his wife played by Hannah Huffer, the overworked constable (Lyndon Baker) and Animal Control Officer (Eli Webb). The Duchess is played by Lily Hall and a fearless Dance Tutor by Cassandra Davis. There are a host of RATS!-big rats, small rats, black rats, brown rats, etc., who wage war on the Town of Hamelin.
The story centers around “the keeping of promises.” It is told with lively and poignant songs (under the musical direction of Carol Rios), a delightful, fun-filled cast of unforgettable characters (directed by Paul Tunis), infectious dances (choreographed by Laura Belvado), a visually enchanting set and costumes with a unique twist (Diana Tunis) and rhythms by Linda Gustafson.
It’s not to be missed. Tickets will be available at the CVCA desk beginning July 2. Call 425-0884 now for reservations. Hope to see you there.
