David Wayne Cupples, age 51, passed away on Sept. 22, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. He was born on Oct. 11, 1960 in Miami, Ariz., the son of the Izora and the late Winford Cupples.
David attended Miami schools and later graduated from Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside, Ariz. He served his country proudly for eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
David enjoyed writing and painting. He even wrote a couple of books. He will fondly be remembered as a Marine, rambler, radio DJ, an author, a locksmith, a loving brother and a friend.
He is survived by the love of his life, Leon Hamilton; his mother, Izora Ayers, and his step-father, Carl Ayers; his brother, Winford Cupples, Jr. (Mary); his sisters, Cheryl Bentley and Barbara Brown; his nieces and nephews, Chris Cupples, Jeremy Cupples, Andrew Cupples, Michael Cupples, Jessica Cruz, Robert Lents, and Athena Lents; and cousins, Jeff Powell, Scott Powell, Allen Cupples, Larry Cupples, and Jonathan Cupples.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Esther Powell, grandparents, Leo and Margaret Cupples; his father, Winford Cupples; uncles Lee Powell, Edwin Powell, and Jack Cupples.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn, 5401 S. Park Ave., in Tucson, Ariz.
