Posted: Tuesday, Nov 6th, 2012
Duane C. “Rick” Wilson, Jr. of Mesa, Ariz. passed away Oct. 16, 2012 in Phoenix, Ariz. Rick was born in Pocatello, Idaho on Sept. 4, 1954, to Duane C. and Judy (Taber) Wilson and was a 1972 graduate of Miami High School.
Following in his dad’s footsteps, he worked in the drilling industry with job sites throughout the western and southwest United States. He left the drilling business for a short time, turning to carpentry where he worked for several construction firms in the Phoenix area. But drilling came calling again in 1995; the second time around took him to locations in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and South Africa.
Rick was an avid science fiction reader, loved crossword puzzles, fishing, golf, cards, and cooking, and was a passionate sports fan for all the Arizona teams. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Kathy (Hinderberger); and two children, Brittany (Wilson) George and her husband Brian, and Taylor Wilson.
A visitation (10 a.m.) followed by a memorial mass (11 a.m.) will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Rick’s memory to The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona (4203 E.
