Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Trujillo, passed away Dec. 1, 2012 at the age of 97 in Simi Valley, Calif. She was born on Jan. 24, 1915 in Teocaltiche, Mexico and grew up as a child in Miami, Ariz. with her brothers and sisters, graduating from Miami High School in 1937.
She was married to Manual B. Trujillo from 1940 to 1953 and had three children, David, Katie, and Eddie. Her devotion to her children, commitment to her family and compassion made her a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
She worked very hard all her life, mostly in Miami and Globe, and retired as an X-ray Technician from San Manual Hospital in 1976. After retirement she moved to southern California to be close to her family. She loved gardening, cooking (making tamales and holiday cookies), sewing (making Cabbage-Patch and Raggedy Ann/Andy dolls) and traveling.
She is survived by her children, David Trujillo (Lynne), Katherine Dexter (Don) and Edward Trujillo (Rose); two sisters, Lena Aragon and Melito DeLatorre; seven grandchildren, Debra, Mike, Chris, Robert, Marlene Casillas, Miguel and Marissa and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Moorpark, Calif. at noon. Viewing will be available in the vestibule from 11:30 a.m. to noon that day. Interment will follow at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Simi Valley, Calif. Services are being handled by Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley, Calif. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or March of Dimes.
