Gloria Jean Herrera, 57

Gloria Jean Herrera, 57, passed away at her home in Tucson on Sept. 19, 2012. Gloria was born in Globe, Ariz. on Sept. 6, 1955, the daughter of Eduardo and Adele Herrera.
Gloria had suffered many physicals hardships due to cancer treatment she had received as a toddler. Although Gloria had physical challenges, she still accomplished many achievements throughout her life.
She graduated from Globe High School, then continued her education at the Eastern Arizona College, where she received her Associates Degree. She also attended U of A. She was also involved in the community. Gloria helped start the first Sunday school at Holy Angels Catholic Church and was one of the first members of the Our Lady of Fatima.
Gloria will be remembered for her strength and tenacity; as well as her fun, loving nature. She was wonderful with children; in fact, she was an essential part of helping to raise her nephews and nieces. She liked computers and was enrolled computer science courses, and also enjoyed reading and music.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Adele Herrera and her father, Eduardo Herrera. She is survived by her sister, Linda DeLaTorre of Tucson; her brothers, Edward Herrera (Martha) and Thomas Herrera (Nonie) of Globe; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. The Mass and Rosary will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Church, beginning at 9:30 a.m., with the Mass to follow at 10 a.m. The Interment will be at Globe Cemetery. Luncheon to be at Holy Angels Catholic Church Hall.
