Reyes (Rey) C. Barajas, 45, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2013. He was born in Miami, Ariz. on Oct. 2, 1967 to Jesus (Chuy) and Edith Barajas.
Rey is survived by his mother, Edith; his daughter, Ashley (Derrick); his son, Mathew; his granddaughter, Giuliana; his sister, Dianna Gonzales (George); his brothers, John (Genie), Jerry, Jesse (Becky), and Joey (Suzanne); and many nieces and nephews.
Rey was a Captain with CCA (Corrections Corporation of America) and was recently awarded acknowledgement for 15 years of service. Rey’s work included supervising numerous employees and he was well respected and loved by many as a leader and role model.
His family is deeply saddened by his sudden departure and takes comfort in the knowledge that for the time we shared with him, it was always loving and filled with joy.
Everyone who knew Rey could appreciate his gift of comedy and laughter. He could make you laugh on a dime. He was also a movie and history buff and could relate action scenes like no other.
Rey deeply loved his children and his granddaughter. He was a faithful member of his church. He was a special friend to his nieces and nephews, who thought the world of him. Numerous outdoor activities were shared with him and those memories will be theirs forever.
The spirit of the Barajas family is comforted in the knowledge that Heaven is richer today because Rey is there with his Dad (Chuy), his sister-in-law, Dora and many loved ones who have gone before.
