Margaret E. Bilson passed away at her home in Globe, Ariz. on June 14, 2013, after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer.†
Her family was by her side.† Margaret was born in Globe on May 24, 1946, to Tom and Betty Bilson. Margaret was raised in the Globe-Miami area and graduated from Miami High School in 1964.
She attended college at the University of Arizona and received bachelorís and masterís degrees in microbiology. She served in the Army as a Reserve Captain and was in artillery at Fort Sill, Okla.
Margaret moved to California after completing her internship in microbiology in Ohio. She completed over 35 years of civil service in laboratories at the Long Beach Naval Hospital and the San Diego Naval Hospital.
Margaret loved to travel and visited England and Western Europe several times over the years. She was a skilled dancer and won first place in dance contests.
Margaret is survived by her brother, Edward and his wife, Sue; two nieces, two great-nieces, two great-nephews, and one great-great-niece.† She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Visitation was held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland St., Globe, Ariz. Funeral services followed at 10 a.m. Interment at Globe Cemetery, Hackney Avenue, Globe, Ariz.
