Globe — Daisy Flores, Gila County Attorney, handled the sentencing last Friday in the Tiarra Lynn Clark (Clark) matter. In February and March of this year the Gila County Courthouse received two bomb threats. The bomb threats were received on Mondays and appeared intended to interrupt criminal case hearings being held in Superior Court. On both occasions Clark was scheduled to appear on her pending criminal matters. Clark failed to appear for her sentencing and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Court personnel, county attorney staff and an anonymous tip all pointed to Clark being the likely suspect.
Clark was arrested and confessed that she did not want to go to court for sentencing in her current case as she had entered a plea agreement requiring prison. She admitted to calling in the March bomb threat.
Within days of her bomb threat to the courthouse Clark was indicted for the crimes of Failure to Appear and Hoax (calling in the bomb threat to a government building). By plea agreement Clark admitted to her conduct and agreed to be sentenced to prison to run consecutive to her other matter. On July 13, Clark was sentenced to the Department of Correction for the aggravated maximum term of 2.5 years which will run consecutive to her other sentence of 2.5 years.
