San Carlos — The San Carlos Apache Tribe’s Miss San Carlos Apache Pageant Committee is pleased to announce this year’s Pageants. Applications are available for the titles of Miss San Carlos Apache, Jr. Miss San Carlos Apache, Missy San Carlos, San Carlos Princess, San Carlos Little Princess, Baby Girl of the Year, Baby Boy of the Year.
Committee Chairperson Jonell Robertson, who returns from last year’s pageants, “highly encourages tribal members to participate in the Pageants,” saying “it’s a positive experience,” that “gives you a platform to demonstrate your talents” and ultimately if “you are selected, the honor to represent the San Carlos Apache Tribe.”
Certain restrictions do apply and all participants must be enrolled and certified members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
Age limits for each category are:
Miss San Carlos Apache: 18 -23 years old
Jr. Miss San Carlos: 13 – 15 years old
Missy San Carlos: 10-12 years old
San Carlos Apache Princess: 7 -9 years old
Lil Princess San Carlos: 4 -6 years old
Baby girl of the year: 9 months – 3 years old
Baby boy of the year: 9 months – 3 years old
Prizes include toys, sashes, crowns, and other gifts.
Pageant dates are:
51st Annual Miss San Carlos: Friday, Nov. 9 at Burdette Hall (time to be announced).
Youth Pageant: October 27th @ Burdette Hall beginning at 10am. Includes Jr. Miss San Carlos, Missy San Carlos, Princess, Lil Princess, Baby Girl of the Year, and Baby Boy of the Year.
“The Committee has been busy preparing for this year’s Pageants with the goal of providing an enjoyable and memorable Pageant” said Committee Chairperson Jonell Robertson.
