Results from San Carlos primary election are in

San Carlos — On Oct. 2, 2012, before a large crowd at the San Carlos Apache Tribal Council Hall, Dennett Stevens, Chairman of the Tribe’s Election Board, announced the primary election results for the Gilson Wash District and the Seven Mile Wash District, where incumbent councilman, Tao Etpison, took the lead for the Gilson Wash District with 57 percent of the votes cast, and Mitchell Hoffman took 28 percent of the votes, taking the lead in the Seven Mile Wash District.

The primary results for the Gilson Wash District included votes for write-in candidates as well.

Gilson Wash results are:

Tao Etpison, 364 votes

Terry David Kitcheyan, 122 votes

Barbara May, 51

Ricardo Sneezy, 45

Alma Benally, 41

Write-ins, 5

The primary results for the Seven Mile Wash District, including write-in candidates are:

Mitchell Hoffman, 183

Farrell Goode, 162

Mary Jane Tapija, 107

Lois Sprengler, 96

Kenneth Key, 73

Benny Ferreira, 26

Write-ins, 1

The San Carlos Apache Tribe’s General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, for all districts in Bylas, Gilson Wash, Peridot and Seven Mile Wash.
