Vice Mayor Eric Mariscal presents a certificate of Appreciation to Fire Marshal Joe Bracamonte for coming off his vacation to investigate a suspicious house fire behind the AM/PM at the western edge of the city last week. The investigation resulted in charges being filed on an individual who had been living in the supposedly empty house. |

Globe — In an issue which had been previously discussed at a work session, the Globe City Council approved a utility rate study.
When first discussed, the council had not been in favor of the study because they did not want to consider raising utility rates. They still don’t. However, with some convincing on the part of Interim City Manager Seelhammer, a study of how to provide for it in the future was approved.
Seelhammer compared the city’s aging water and wastewater systems to an old car—a Model T, as the city’s system is that old.
