Genevieve C. Lopez ‘PeeWee,’ age 85, passed away on Oct. 11, 2012. She was born on Dec. 30, 1926.
Behold what a wonder you've provided for me.
To keep these hands still during the shaking of seas.
When my heart was unsettled it was a matter of you,
A matter of distance to what you told me is true.
I'd rather be lost in your light than the world,
Rather I struggle with the truth in the toil.
A faith you can't sever for a God who won't sleep
Submerged in an ocean of your love, ever deep.
What the future will hold, although I know not,
I know of your son and what he has taught.
Thus I release all my worry, my tress, and my fear,
For the creator does love me and will be holding me near.
Genevieve C. Lopez was laid to rest at Mesa Cemetery. Officiating her service was Minister and Grandson, Jesse Rey Felix. He spoke on her life in Globe and her love of our Lord. She is survived by her six children, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
