Tiger Cross Country runners compete at state championship

Phoenix — On Saturday, Nov. 3, two runners from Globe High School competed in the AIA Div. IV State Cross Country Championship held in Phoenix at the Cave Creek Golf Course.

Running in the girls’ race, senior Denesha Rodriquez placed 53rd out of more than 120 runners with a time of 22:57. This is the fourth year in a row that Denesha qualified for the state tournament.

In the boys’ race, sophomore Aaron Gourdin placed 71st out of 163 runners with a time of 19:16.

Last weekend, Denesha and Aaron qualified at the Sectionals race, also held in Phoenix. Aaron placed 19th with a time of 17:37. Denesha placed 11th with a time of 21:22.

Congratulations to both runners on a great season and an excellent performance at state!

Good job team and coaches on the season.
