Gila County — As of Oct. 1, 2012 federal funding reductions required County Health Departments to purchase private vaccines and to have the capacity to bill private insurance plans before they could continue to provide immunizations to children with insurance.
The Gila County Health Department is pleased to announce that they can now provide vaccines to privately insured children. The Health Department has contracts with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, HealthNet, and Humana. Those with other insurances will need to pay at time of service by cash or money order, and they will receive a receipt to turn into their insurance company.
The County will also continue to vaccinate uninsured, Native American and AHCCCS children, 0-18 years of age with vaccines through the Vaccines for Children Program. The goal of the Health Department is to make vaccines readily available to all residents of Gila County.
Please work with them by presenting your insurance card at every visit. For more information, please call 4702-8811.
