Globe — The Globe City Council held a full work session Monday evening that gave the members plenty of time to discuss several areas.
Marion Steele of the Globe Library brought a plan to the council for consideration regarding an expanded parking area between the TeePee and the library. The Library Board had been working with Matt Rencher, city engineer, to develop more spaces off the street for patrons of the library. Their plan included entering off south Broad Street, parking, and then exiting by Cottonwood. After some discussion the council and board agreed to go back to the drawing board and make some changes. They will return with perhaps two designs that included all of the suggested items. Councilman Baker, who has been a strong advocate of the library and has worked with the board previously, will join the team on this project.
Also on the agenda for discussion was a presentation by Pam Muse, Regional Director of Alliance for Innovation, concerning that program. For an introductory $500 a year Alliance for Innovation could be a research tool regarding best practices and solutions to common problems.
