Phoenix — In U.S. District Court in Phoenix, a new sentencing date has been set for 32-year-old Jeremiah Stevens for the May 13, 2011 murder of Mat Stauffer, Jr. of San Carlos, Ariz. The 31-year-old Stauffer, father of six, was shot and killed on the San Carlos Reservation.

Stevens, who pleaded guilty earlier to Stauffer’s murder, has been rescheduled for sentencing on Jan. 14, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. in federal court before U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton.

Stevens, who is still in federal custody, was originally scheduled to be sentenced last week on Nov. 26.
