Miami council squabbles over Genesis’ non-profit status

Miami — The announcement that a former town committee has received its non-profit status met with a squabble at Monday night’s Miami council meeting.

The Genesis Committee was originally formed to raise money and sponsor events and projects to enhance the town. Members have frequently butted heads with some council members when requesting approval to spend money earned through the committee’s volunteer projects.
