Senior Wish Tree Program benefits 113 area senior citizens

I want to personally thank the Globe-Miami community for the successful 4th Annual Senior Wish Tree Program. Together, with the support of Daisy Flores, Gila County Attorney, and with the help of many of Santa’s Elves, we were able to see this program continue again this year. One hundred and thirteen senior citizens in the Globe, Miami and Payson area received a special Christmas package filled with items that they requested, but also a few Christmas surprises!
This Christmas would not be as special for these seniors if it were not for the help of many dedicated local people. A special thank you goes out to Anne Petty from BHP Billiton for all of her help with the elves this year; Sam Correa, Mine Maintenance Crew #4, Juanita Hyde, Lupe Gonzales, Jeretta Broadhead, Cheri Hallin, Susan Ingram, Brett McNeill, Helena Rodriguez, Supervisor Shirley Dawson, Rev. Rula Colvin of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Freeport-McMoRan’s Robin Horta and the Freeport employees; Lisa Mishler, Bill Beller, Vickie Smith, Rose Mancha, Jessica Nehrmeyer, Kathy Miller, Carmen Casillas, Kathy Garcia, Sherry Rice and her friend, Violet Williams, Malinda Benedetto, Nancy Mach, Nancy Rutherford, Chuck Turney, Christine Rocha, Debra Archuleta, Ted Weaver, Billie Leep and the Medera Peak Seniors, Bill and Sue Williams, Barbara Minton, Willy Pedea, Bek-Kah Salaam, Stella Marschall, Melvina Griffin, Joanne Zache, Brenda Van Haren, June Ava Florescue, Jeff and Terry Dalton, Linda Soderman, Wendy McHood, Nancy Rutherford, Cat Corso, Olga Delsi and Cenpatico, Carolyn Gillis, Julie Craig and the Arizona Youth Partnership staff.
Thank you again to the wonderful people from Globe and Miami who stepped up to give a gift of a little Christmas cheer to those in need.
