Miami — In a 3rd quarter 2012 report, KGHM International said it anticipates continuing with its closing plan for its Carlota Copper Mine west of the town of Miami.
KGHM, which is 100-percent owned by the government of Poland and is the world’s 10th largest mining company, said inert waste materials were being placed as capping on the mine waste stockpile as part of the closure plan. KGHM adds that third party engineering studies of various closure components were under way at the Carlota site.
