Phoenix — San Carlos resident Jeremiah Stevens was sentenced to serve 20 years in federal prison for murdering another man on the local Apache Reservation. The 32-year-old Stevens pleaded guilty earlier in U.S. District Court to second degree murder in the May 13, 2011 shooting death of Mat Stauffer, Jr. who was 31 years old and the time he was shot and killed, and was the father of six.
