Fallen comrade Robert Lee Swift is laid to rest

On Jan. 18, the San Carlos Apache Veterans Association Leaders, Joe Dillon, Orville Boni, Huebert Martin and Wheeler Griimes, Sr., stood guard as fellow members carried the casket of a fallen Apache Veteran, Robert Lee Swift. Funeral services were conducted at the Assembly of God Church in Bylas, Ariz.
Bylas — On Jan. 18, 2013, Robert Lee Swift, an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, was laid to rest by his fellow Veterans after services were held at the Assembly of God Church within the Bylas community.

The funeral procession was under the direction of Pastor Vernon Poncho. Following the opening prayer, musical numbers were provided by Brother Terrell Goseyun and Brother Skeeter Pike and the Church Choir.
