Woes over washed out road weigh on Mackey Camp residents

Holly Sow/ Arizona Silver Belt The residents of Mackey Camp just outside of Miami are feeling the burden of the recent heavy rains once again with little hope that a permanent solution will be found soon.

Miami — When it rains, it pours for the residents of so-called Mackey Camp, just outside of Miami City limits. The residents of the area, which lies next to a creek bed that floods when heavy rains fall, are plagued by washed out road crossings that connect them to the highway - and the rest of town.
