Tom Gilliland was born and raised in the Globe-Miami area. He worked for the old Miami Copper Co., Castle Dome, Copper Cities and was the truck shop foreman in the start up of the Pinto Valley Mine in 1972.
He retired with more than 35 yeas with the same company. Tom enjoyed his retirement in beautiful Tillamook, Ore. with his wife, Mody, and his adoring stepchildren, Joyce and husband Greg, James and wife Barbara, and David and wife Fran.
He was also surrounded by several step grandchildren who all loved him and enjoyed hanging out with him. He passed away peacefully at home in his own bed. 6/18/1927- 1/30/2013
