Miami — The Miami Fire Department is getting some needed help in the form of an “onboard computer.” The computer, according to Town Manager Jerry Barnes, has the capacity to advise firefighters of the location of every hydrant in town, every impassible road, identify hazardous spills and notify emergency responders as to what agency to call for help.
Barnes said the computer, referred to as a “tough book” will eventually be extended to police cars to provide them with essential information.
