Genevieve M. Garcia, age 81, born and raised in Miami, passed away Feb. 13, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Miami, Ariz. on June 9, 1931, the daughter of Prajedis (Bejarano) and Francisco Moreno. Genevieve attended grade school at Bullion Plaza and graduated from Miami High School in 1950.
Her first job was at The Commissary Market in Miami, where she started at 25 cents per hour. She worked at Safeway for 15 years and retired from Pinto Valley Mine in 1980. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, and she loved to fish and go camping. She was also an avid Diamondbacks fan.
Genevieve leaves behind in loving memory her daughter, Patsy Tomek and her husband, Fred, of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother, Frank (Chico) Moreno, Jr. of Miami, Ariz.; grandson, Cory R. Garcia and great-grandson, Rylee J. Garcia.
Genevieve is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Genevieve M. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Garcia; brothers Neto Rascon and Rudy Moreno; and sister, Eva Garcia.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Miles Funeral Services Miami Chapel, 309 W. Live Oak St., Miami, Ariz.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W Sullivan St., Miami, Ariz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
Interment at Pinal Cemetery, Central Heights, Ariz.
