The San Luis Valley’s first major snow of the season fell early Friday morning dropping an estimated three to eight inches in locations across the Valley. In Alamosa, three to four inches covered streets and sidewalks causing slick driving conditions most of the morning. In Cole Park, Dennis DeHerrera shovels snow from around the playground equipment, above. Around eight inches was reported in Sanford, while Wolf Creek Ski Area reported 10 inches of new snow. Sunshine is forecast for weekend with daytime temperatures in the low 30s today and low 40s Sunday.
