The company which owns the Carlota Copper mine west of the Town of Miami, KGHM International, said last Friday the launch of its new Sierra Gorda Copper Mine in Chile may be delayed by 2 to 3 months because of a cost overrun of $3.9 billion. KGHM told the Reuters News Service its Sierra Gorda project is costing one-third more than expected.
