Globe Council holds Special Meeting on urgent issues

Globe — Mayor Terry Wheeler called a special meeting of the Globe City Council last Wednesday, Feb. 27, even though the council had met Monday for about two hours. At issue were two items: 1) trying to prevent the Arizona Water Company from arbitrarily raising rates on Globe residents who do not have city water and 2) to aggressively support Resolution Copper’s path to production, particularly after the Town of Superior cancelled its longtime working agreement of support for Resolution Copper.
