Globe — The Globe School District is in the process of testing new surveillance cameras to deter theft in school buildings. The High School was broken into last month and it is hoped that the cameras will make it easier for law enforcement officials to identify and arrest thieves.
“We’re testing a couple cameras,” said technology director Bob Davidson. “At least if someone does break in, we’ll at least get a picture.”
On a more positive note, the district is looking at improvements to the pre-school playground at Copper Rim. Superintendent of Schools Jerry Jennex told the school board that Acting Principal Brian Peace has been working with Business Manager Jennifer Kinnard and pre-school staff to look at what is desirable, affordable and achievable in the short term. For the complete article see the 03-27-2013 issue.
