Miami schools could soon house new hallway cameras and monitoring system

Miami — At its regular meeting on Monday evening, the Miami School District Governing Board approved an agreement with David Moss of People Power Company to set up security systems with recycled cell phones at Lee Kornegay and Bejarano schools.

Moss, a Miami High School graduate, developed an App, “Presence,” that allows administrators to remotely monitor camera feeds from used iPhones, iPads and iTouches. He said that the cost to the district will be minimal, but items such as wall and ceiling mounts, power cables and add-on lenses will need to be purchased.
