Globe — Readers of the Arizona Silver Belt will certainly get their money’s worth this week.
The weekly newspaper, which turns 135 years old this week, published its annual Progress edition in this week’s paper. This year, Progress was a two-section, 16-page project that was made possible by the Silver Belt’s loyal advertisers.
Globe-Miami is not only a great place to live, there is all sorts of progress being made here. Look no further than the Cobre Valley Institute of Technology, which prepares high school students for college and a fulfilling career. Or Gila County, which made the move to a greener place to live by installing solar power panels in 2012. Or the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, which opened a new clinic last year in Superior and recently announced plans for a huge expansion.
It may be hard for outsiders to see, but Globe-Miami is progressing; maybe not as quickly as other areas in Arizona, but progressing nonetheless.
