Students stage ongoing protests supporting Roberds

Students at Miami High School walked out on Wednesday, May 1 in protest of the firing of long-time educator and coach, Cherry Roberds as well as other faculty members. The students all wore white to show their support of their educators.
Miami Early last week, community members, students, educators and even coaches from around the state reeled in shock of the news of long-time Miami High School teacher and title winning coach, Cherry Roberds being replaced after the 2012-13 school year. The realization that this was happening was immediately met with ill regard from a large number of MHS alumni, former staff members, as well as current students and staff. The news regarding this veteran teacher, who has given her entire career to Miami, was enough to spark a fire of action among students at Miami High.
