Jim Quinn passed away on July 9, 2013 quietly sleeping in his own bed. Thank you to God and The Crossing Hospice for making this possible.
A special thanks to Melissa and Dr. Salazar for being so caring in my time of need. Jim was born in Grants, N.M. on March 30, 1940. He resided in Globe since 1986.
Jim was self-employed as a wholesale gemstone dealer for most of his working life.
Jim is survived by his wife of 41 happy years, Judy Quinn; his mother, Lillian Quinn; his brothers, Bob Quinn, Sam Quinn, John Quinn and Ric Quinn; and many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly as their favorite playmate when they were young and a mentor and hero as they grew up.
There will not be a memorial service. Jim donated his body to science. When his ashes are returned, his nephew, Richard Martin will take him hunting one last time this fall.
If you knew Jim and want to remember him, next time you see someone on the street who needs a few dollars, even if it is for a beer, give them what you can afford.
Jim loved to play poker - to all of his poker buddies out there, play a hand for him.
