Schools receive letter grades from Dept. of Education

Posted: Wednesday, Aug 21st, 2013

Gila County — On Aug. 1, 2013 Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal released the 2012-13 AIMS scores, as well as the state’s A-F letter grades for all districts and charter schools in Arizona.

The letter grades are mandated by ARS §15-241. According to the Department of Education, “These letter grades are based on the weighting of student performance on the AIMS tests and student academic growth from year to year, along with additional points awarded for high English Language Learner reclassifications, and significant reductions in dropout rates.”
