Vandals stampede over Falcons, 63-12

Posted: Tuesday, Oct 8th, 2013

Senior quarterback Aaron Hockaday (No. 10) waits for sophomore center Jack Foxworthy (No. 65) to snap the ball in the game against Alchesay on Friday, Oct. 4. Miami won easily, 63-12, for its first win of the season.

Miami — The Vandals defeated Alchesay, 63-12, for their first win of the season on Friday, Oct. 4.

Miami got off to a fast start, scoring on their first drive of the game.

Junior Cedric Johnson ran the ball in for a 6-yard touchdown and quarterback Aaron Hockaday completed the play with a two-point conversion.

Alchesay came right back, and just two plays into the drive junior Rashaan Stover caught a 60-yard pass from freshman quarterback Jalen Parrish.

The Falcons could not complete the two-point conversion, but they cut the Miami lead to two, 8-6. However, that would be as close as Alchesay would get to Miami.

“The win feels good,” head coach Jeremiah Johnson said. “We’re a young team. We have a lot of freshmen and sophomores out there. One senior and two juniors, so this felt good.”
