Shots fired near Safeway and Walmart

Globe — The Globe Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday evening near Walmart and Safeway on Highway 60.

At 7:47 p.m. on Monday, the department received a 911 call in reference to several shots being fired in the area of Safeway and Walmart. Upon officers’ arrival, it was learned that the shots fired came from a moving vehicle that was traveling on Highway 60 and were fired in the direction of the Safeway store. Officers determined that a total of five shots were fired.

Of the five shots fired, three rounds were located and accounted for in the area between Highway 60 and Safeway. Two of the rounds struck a vehicle parked at the north end of the Safeway parking lot and one round struck a vehicle at the south end of the parking lot near Safeway.
