Michael J. Guadiana passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2013 after a short illness. Mike was born on Depot Hill in Miami, Ariz. on May 13, 1931.
He attended Miami schools and graduated from Miami High School. In his senior year, he broke a basketball state record by scoring 41 points against Morenci. In 1983 Mike became Miami School Board president.
He attended the University of Arizona, and then joined the U.S Marine Corps and served his time during the Korean War. He was proud to be a Marine.
Mike worked 12 years at Sears in sales, and then spent 27 years at Inspiration/Cyprus in HR. He finished his working career by working at AZDES employment for more than 11 years.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Eusebio and Argripina Guadiana; his daughter, Mary Ruth Ensey; and his brothers, Ralph and Robert Guadiana.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his son, Michael P. Guadiana; his daughters, Paula (Bob) Beitz, Rebecca Guadiana, and Jo Anna (Marc) Fauss; step-daughter, Amanda (Dean) Webb; and sister, Virginia (John) Herrera. He had 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami, Ariz. Mike loved and was devoted to his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be a loved person, and he was one of a kind. We were blessed to have been his family.
